A Parent Teacher Collaborative
Committed to Educational Excellence
PTA Committees
Your Ellis PTA is committed to providing outstanding resources and opportunities to enhance the educational experience of every Ellis child.  One way we have accomplished this is by creating committees that focus on specific areas where our resources - and your input - can be of added value.

Take a look around at the wonderful work being done by these committees.  Find one of interest?  Want to use your expertise to help make a difference?  Click on the links to the left to visit each committee page.  There you will find the latest round table notes and the opportunity to make suggestions and join a group.

Remember, this is your opportunity to voice your concerns and become involved in finding the solutions that make us all more effective in the education, enrichment, and wellness of our children!

Ellis PTA Committees

Cultural Diversity...Celebrating diversity in the Ellis community.  This group will focus on ways to embrace the diversity of the "Ellis Family" as they help educate, accommodate, and celebrate what makes us all unique!

Health and Wellness...A great concern for all parents, this group will provide a venue for discussing the effect proper diet and exercise have on our children.  The focus of this group will be to ensure these needs are being met and to provide suggestions and support to ensure the ongoing health and wellness of our children.

Montessori Advocacy...Preserving the Montessori way of educating the WHOLE child.  How mandated testing and other "traditional" education methods and mandates impact Montessori principles and practices...and what we can do about it.

Teacher support
...Explore and implement ideas and programs that provide support, recognition, and enrichment to serve the Teachers that are tasked with the awesome responsibility of educating our children.

Arts Enrichment...Within us all lies a poet, an artist, an actor...  This group will explore the ways we can enrich the process that exposes our children to the excitement and pride that creativity brings out in every child.

Communications....Communication is key when it comes to our children.  Help us open the lines of communication as we build and maintain a website, publish a PTA Newsletter, and work to compile a Parent, Student, and Staff Directory.

Science Enrichment...Focused on supporting science, both in the classroom and outside this group will focus on advancing the exposure to all things science.

Family Engagement

Family, School, Community! When we work together, students succeed. Join PTA to help put the pieces together for stronger family engagement, stronger community involvement, stronger student achievement.

Bobcat Boosters

Did you play after school sports or were in the band? Our Charles Ellis Bobcats need YOU! The Booster club at Charles Ellis is a support network for all of our extracurricular activities. Our sports include: girls softball, girls/boys basketball, girls/boys soccer, track, cheerleading, swimming and wrestling. As a Booster, you can provide transportation to practice, donate snacks and water for the teams and much more. Go Bobcats!

Special  Events

Calling all avid entertainers! Please join our Special Events committee and help organize and run the many events we hold during the year. Homecoming, Fall Festival, Holiday Bazaar, Uniform Swap, Spring Fling--if you are you good at party planning, cooking, crafting, organizing, we will find an outlet for your passion at one of these events to make it a success. It takes many volunteers to make our events a success and you have just the spirit we are looking for.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation

Explore and implement ideas and programs that provide support, recognition and enrichment to serve the teachers that are tasked with the awesome responsibility of educating our children. Help keep our new school supply closet stocked.

School Beautification & Safety- New Committee for 2010-2011!

Our School welcomes us with open arms every time we enter and our hope with this newly formed committee is to expand an already welcome environment with appealing outdoor spaces for students, families, teachers and staff. Involvement in this group will allow you to directly impact the quality of environment that your child is learning, eating and playing in. We will have weekend “campus clean-ups” and an overall vision of transforming many less desirable spaces into usable, workable areas where our children and families can grow and prosper.
